EVALUATION of ZINC PLATED CRIMP TYPE LUG TERMINALS

Zinc plated lug terminals submitted by Thorax and Betts Company, Inc., were subjected to Vibration and Salt Spray conditioning in accordance with Specification MIL-E-16366. The Vibration conditioning did not appreciably affect the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the lug terminals. The Salt Spray conditioning had a deleterious effect on the electrical characteristics of some of the lug terminals. The Salt Spray conditioning completely corroded the zinc plating on all terminals and in numerous cases there was a complete removal of the sine plating,
