PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc oxide particle having a high specific surface area and a zinc oxide particle film and production methods thereof.;SOLUTION: There are provided a zinc oxide particle that is made to have a higher specific surface area compared to a hexagonal particle by growing the crystal to a multi-needle type form, a zinc oxide composite material that is composed of a zinc oxide particle that is made to have a higher specific surface area compared to a hexagonal particle by growing the crystal to a multi-needle type form and a thin film containing zinc, a production method of a zinc oxide particle, and a production method of a composite material that is composed of a zinc oxide particle and a thin film containing zinc. The zinc oxide particle has such an advantage that a higher specific surface area can be obtained compared to a hexagonal particle because it has a multi-needle type form and further has a finely irregular structure on the surface of the multi-needle type particle, and also can form a particle film having a given thickness at reduced grain boundaries and can reduce the falling of the electrical conductivity caused by the grain boundaries.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
