NAVIGATION SYSTEM, NAVIGATION APPARATUS, NAVIGATION SERVER, AND LATEST VERSION UPDATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, along with a navigation apparatus, navigation server and latest version updating method, capable of reducing the communication quantity between a server and a terminal without requiring a version management on the terminal side, and enabling a route guide and a current position guide, based on the latest version data on the terminal side.;SOLUTION: The navigation server stores version information of each mesh of navigation data stored in the navigation apparatus. If an acquisition request is received from the navigation apparatus, the latest version of the navigation data is searched based on the acquisition request. It determines whether version information stored for each mesh of the searched navigation data is the latest version. If it determines that it is not the latest version, the navigation data is updated with the latest version by transmitting the navigation data corresponding to the mesh determined that it is not the latest version to the navigation apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
