PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chloride ion trap material and a chloride ion trap sealing material trapping chloride ions to suppress the corrosion. PSOLUTION: The chloride ion trap material 1a contains metal silver which forms a salt of the chloride ion which is hardly soluble in water or steam present in a pipe line or equipment by the reaction with the chloride ion and is provided in a place where water or steam is existed to be in contact with water or steam with a gasket 2 containing chloride ion in the side of water or steam from the gasket 2. The chloride ion trap material 1a is provided to be in contact with the inner periphery of the gasket 2 over the whole area of the gasket 2 in the peripheral direction and is structured as a circular member continuous in the peripheral direction.
