PSOLUTION: The binder for a lithium ion battery electrode includes polyimide and/or a precursor having a diamime residue in a formula (1) of 1.0-4.5 mol% in a total diamime residue, or polyamideimide containing a diamime residue in the formula (1) of 1.0-10.0 mol% in a total diamime residue. In the formula (1), RSP1/SP-RSP4/SPdenote hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxyl, phenyl group, or the like, RSP5/SPand RSP6/SPdenote alkylene, cyclo alkylene or phenyl group, and m shows the number from 1-10.
