PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing an imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid derivative useful as an intermediate of a film photo, a pharmaceutical and the like on an industrial scale without using an expensive catalyst and specific facilities, more specifically, a method which can efficiently prepare the imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic ester derivative at a high rate of reaction in a high yield at a low cost without causing pollution such as waste water.;SOLUTION: The method for preparing the imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid ester derivative comprises reacting a compound of an imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid with a compound of an alcohol in the presence of chlorosulfonic acid to perform esterification.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
