PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal continuous casting apparatus which enables stable and smooth high-speed casting with a reduced amount of a lubricant and prevents occurrence of breakout and lubricant reaction products, resulting in remarkable reduction in ingot failure.;SOLUTION: In the horizontal continuous casting apparatus where a molten alloy 255 within a tundish 250 is supplied from one end of a horizontally arranged mold 201 into the mold 201 to produce an aluminum alloy cast rod, a lubricant supply conduit 224 provided in the inner wall of the mold at a position proximal to the one end of the mold 201 is extended toward the other end of the mold 201.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
