PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit for a progressive wave type electrode which can be driven by an amplifier of relatively small amplification width, an optical modulation system using the same, and a method for driving the progressive wave type electrode.;SOLUTION: The driving circuit (10) for the progressive wave type electrode includes an electric signal source (1) which generates an electric signal, a terminal unit (2) which is installed at the terminal of the circuit, a first inlet/outlet lead wire (3a) which is connected to one end of the progressive wave type electrode, a second inlet/outlet lead wire (3b) which is connected to the other end of the progressive wave type electrode, a circulator (4) which is a switching element to transmit the electric signal from the electric signal source to the first inlet/outlet lead wire and to transmit the feedback signal from the first inlet/outlet lead wire to the terminal unit, a reflector (5) which is connected to the second inlet/outlet lead wire and reflects the electric signal inputted from the other end of the progressive wave type electrode, and an amplifier (6) which amplifiers the electric signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
