PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal material for molding which allows a lubricant to be applied with satisfactory adhesiveness, to provide a method for manufacturing the same, to provide a metal material for molding with a lubricant coating applied with the lubricant and to provide a metal molding method using the same. PSOLUTION: The metal material 6 for molding is used for molding while applying the lubricant and the metal material 7 for molding with a lubricant coating has the lubricant coating 5 formed thereon. The metal material 6 for molding includes a base material 4 comprising a metal material subjected to extrusion or extension and a hydrated oxidized coating 41 or an oxidized coating 42 formed on the surface thereof. The hydrated oxidized coating 41 is formed by bringing the base material 4 into contact with water or an alkaline aqueous solution, of which the temperature is 50C.
