PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for hot plate fusion which improves the stringiness of a resin in hot plate fusion and the surface appearance of a molded article. PSOLUTION: The resin composition for hot plate fusion comprises 100 pts. wt. thermoplastic resin (a rubber reinforced styrenic resin alone or a mixture of the rubber reinforced styrenic resin and another thermoplastic resin) and 0.1-5 pts. wt. higher fatty acid metal salt (stearic acid or lauric acid as the higher fatty acid component, and lithium, magnesium, aluminum, calcium, zinc, strontium or barium as the metal component).
