PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer interface which does not request electronic harmony between a display device and a user input device. ;SOLUTION: An image acquisition user interface receives an image in a certain area of a user interface 3210 selected by a user and translates that image into operation executable by a computer. The user interface 3210 is provided with a graphic entity such as DAVE'S DOC 3214 and an embedded code. The user places an image acquiring device like a camera pen on or near the graphic entity of the user interface, presses a button on the image acquiring device and instructs the selection of that graphic entity. In response to the button, an image corresponding to the graphic entity selected by the user is acquired. This image includes the embedded code, this is analyzed and an image acquisition code corresponding to the acquired image area is generated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
