PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for allocating a device address to a sub station of a network.;SOLUTION: The sub stations of the network are connected via point-to-point connections, and includes the steps of: a main station transmitting an initializing telegram to the sub stations, the initializing telegram including part of the device address; detecting an adjusted communication address of the sub stations; generating a complete device address depending on the received part of the device address and the communication address; and a device transmitting a response telegram including the communication address and/or the device address to the main station.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
