PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional code pattern image that can be read even if a code pattern reading device has a small read range.;SOLUTION: A code pattern image generating method arranges a plurality of position dependent code images (e.g., position code image 12) including position dependent information differing for each position and redundant data corresponding thereto at prescribed intervals at least in one direction, and also repeatedly arranges position independent code images (e.g., identification code image 14) including position independent information common at each position and redundant data corresponding thereto at intervals between the arranged position dependent code images.
