PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable digitizing of at least a part of an image with fully high resolution so that data processing can be executed.;SOLUTION: Light is projected from the image, and the projected light is separated into 1st and 2nd luminous fluxes focusing in 1st and 2nd focal areas, respectively. The light in the 1st focal area is detected with the 1st resolution. The light in the 2nd focal area is detected with the 2nd resolution which is different from the 1st resolution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
