PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prescription reader designed comparatively easily, excellent in maintenability, while stably issuing a prescription reducing loads on a drug preparation in an insurance pharmacy and effectively preventing drug preparation errors. PSOLUTION: This computer for issuing a prescription is provided with: a prescription issuance device 2 which issues a prescription including prescription information output from a host computer 21 installed in a medical institution and a two-dimensional code corresponding to the prescription information; and the prescription reader 3 which is installed in the insurance pharmacy, reads the two-dimensional code described in the issued prescription, converts it into prescription information to be stored and saved. Formats corresponding to various different formats of the prescription information output from host computers of the respective medical institutions are stored and saved in the prescription reader 3 and identification information of the respective host computers having the various different formats of prescription information are included in the two-dimensional code of the prescription issued by the prescription issuance device 2.
