PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene polymer for expansion foaming having a high expansion ratio, producing good foaming condition, and giving a foam product in particular excellent in mechanical strength, and to provide a resin composition comprising the ethylene polymer.;SOLUTION: The ethylene polymer for expansion molding is an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and 4-20C α-olefin and satisfies requirements (I)-(VI): (I) an MFR (190°C, 2.16 kg load) is 0.1-10 g/10 min; (II) density is 875-970 kg/m3; (III) the ratio between with melt tension at 190°C and shear viscosity at 200°C angular velocity 1.0 rad/s is 1.00×10-4-7.00×10-4 (g/P); (IV) the sum of the number of methyl branches and the number of ethyl branches per 1,000 carbon atoms is 1.8 or less; (V) zero shear viscosity η0 and weight-average molecular weight (Mw) at 200°C satisfy 0.10×10-31×Mw6.8≤η0≤60×10-31×Mw6.8; (VI) molecular weight in the maximum weight fraction in the molecular weight distribution curve by GPC is 1.0×104.20-1.0×104.60.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
