PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare thin slices having accurate and uniform thickness, without deforming the surface of an embedded block, while observing the surface of the embedding block, and to convey the prepared thin slice automatically to the next process via an endless belt.;SOLUTION: A conveyance means has a constitution having endless be a first folding-back shaft arranged close to a cutting blade so as to be approximately, in parallel with the direction of the cutting blade of a cutter, for forming the conveyance start point of the thin slice by the endless belt by folding back the endless be a second folding-back shaft for folding back the endless belt folded back by the first folding-back shaft, in the reverse direction with respect to the conveyance direction of the thin slice; a third folding-back shaft for folding back the endless belt folded back by the second folding-back shaft, sideward to the conveyance direction of the thin slice; and a fourth folding-back shaft for folding back the endless belt folded back by the third folding-back shaft, in a direction where the first folding-back shaft exists.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
