PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine which has both a 5-HT_1A (serotonin receptor subtype 1A)-operating action and a 5-HT₃ antagonismic action and is useful as an agent for treating diseases such as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).;SOLUTION: This medicine comprises a piperazinylpyridine derivative represented by formula (1) (A is benzene ring or a heterocyclic group selected from pyridine, furan and thiophene; R¹ is H, a halogen atom or a lower alkyl; R² is H, a lower alkyl, a phenyl lower alkyl, or the like; R³ is H or a lower alkyl, or R² and R³ may together form a pyrrolidine ring or a piperazine ring; R⁴ is H or a lower alkyl) or its salt, and has both a 5-HT_1A-operating action and a 5-HT₃ antagonist.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
