PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic treatment method and apparatus for ammonia nitrogen-containing waste water which can prevent deterioration of current efficiency, improve decomposition efficiency of ammonia, and perform safe and efficient treatment of any nitrogen-containing waste water.;SOLUTION: The electrolytic treatment apparatus for ammonia nitrogen-containing waste water comprises a regulation tank 11 into which the ammonia nitrogen-containing waste water flows, an electrolytic cell 12 which electrolyzes the waste water 20 fed from the regulation tank in the presence of chlorine ions, and a circulating pump 13 which circulates the waste water between the regulation tank 11 and the electrolytic cell 12, the electrolytic cell 12 is made so as to perform electrolytic treatment of the waste water in the pH range of ≥5 and 8, and preferably a catalyst member made of a metallic material is disposed in the electrolytic cell 12 to promote the decomposition reaction of ammonia nitrogen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
