PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lost foam pattern for making a shell mold for investment casting of a metal or an alloy having high strength and little variation of size.;SOLUTION: The lost foam pattern for casting, is made to the shell mold for investment casting of the metal or the alloy. The pattern contains prescribed ratios of substantially random inter-polymer and low molecular polymer and provided with a characteristic suited for making the shell mold. Further, the lost foam pattern made of a pattern material and having the shape of the metal or the alloy cast product, is disposed, and the pattern is investment-cast in the shell mold, and the pattern is taken out from the shell mold without developing the crack on the shell mold by melting the pattern.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
