PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the superiority degree of a team by using an image in a team sport.;SOLUTION: An extracting section 120 extracts player position information for a plurality of players and ball position information from an image. A specifying section 130 specifies a ball holder from the player position information and the ball position information, and acquires ball holder position information. A model storing section 140 stores a behavior model for a plurality of behaviors which the ball holder could take, and a result model for a plurality of results occurring from a plurality of behaviors. An estimating section 150 determines a probability distribution for an initial state of the ball holder. A calculating section 160 calculates a plurality of transition probabilities which are shifted to a plurality of the results by utilizing the initial probability, the player position information, and the behavior model. A setting section 170 sets an evaluation value indicating degrees by which a plurality of the results contained in the result model are led to scores. A judging section 180 judges the superiority degree of the team to which the ball holder belongs by multiplying the initial probability distribution by the evaluation value corresponding to the transition probability.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
