PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successively grasp accurate mixing ratio of molten iron and molten slag flowing out from a molten iron tapping hole.;SOLUTION: A concentration histogram 42 is calculated from data of figures 41 in the molten iron stream 2 picked up with a CCD camera 5, and the concentration value PM at the peak caused by the molten iron in the calculated concentration histogram 42, is calculated. Further, to the concentration value PM at the peak caused by the molten iron, a constant based on the ratio of spectral emissivity in the molten iron and the molten slag is multiplied and the concentration value PS at the peak caused by molten slag is obtained. Then, the obtained concentration values PM, PS are used, and to the concentration distribution 43 caused by the molten iron and the concentration distribution 44 caused by the molten slag, both Gaussian functions GM, GS are fit.
