PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for synthesizing multiple images which can avoid drawbacks such as blur or an after-image generated by a change in a subject when synthesizing multiple images consecutively picked up in time series. PSOLUTION: When information about the change in the subject from a motion detecting means 10 or a voice information acquiring means 11 changes when an image synthesizing means 5 is in a first operation state with image synthesizing, a processing method determining means 12 executes determination for shifting the means 5 to a second operation state without image synthesizing.
