PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for dissolving a phthalocyanine compound or an analog compound thereof other than the methods by using conventional solvents. PSOLUTION: The method for dissolving a substituted metal phthalocyanine, a substituted metal subphthalocyanine and analogs thereof comprises mixing at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a substituted metal phthalocyanine, a substituted metal subphthalocyanine and analogs thereof represented by formula (1) and formula (2) with supercritical carbon dioxide or subcritical carbon dioxide in a pressurized condition.
