PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering an aprotic solvent in the process for producing a trifluoroethylcarboxylic ester through enlarging the crystal of a byproduct metal chloride to facilitate the separation of the solvent and the byproduct metal chloride.;SOLUTION: This method for recovering a solvent in producing a trifluoroethylcarboxylic ester comprises separation of the solvent from the reaction solution containing a byproduct metal chloride after producing the trifluoroethylcarboxylic ester by reaction between 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-chloroethane and a carboxylic acid metal salt in the aprotic polar solvent. This method is characterized by comprising the following process: the reaction is made in the presence of a hydroxy group-containing organic compound, and after ending the reaction, the aprotic polar solvent is separated from the reaction solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
