PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the secular stability of the low magnetic field magnetic characteristic equivalent to that of a known chromium containing insulating film by proposing a solution means for the secular degradation of the core loss improving effect of a known phosphate-based insulating film containing no chromium.;SOLUTION: The grain oriented silicon steel sheet has an insulating coating containing no chromium in a surface of an original grain oriented silicon steel sheet obtained through the finish annealing. The original sheet contains, by mass, ≥ 0.0005% in total either or both of B and Ca in base iron, and the amount of Sb and Se are limited to ≤ 0.0005% each.
