PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polymer composite, using a plurality of highly reactive polymer compounds, which uniformly contains these polymer compounds and can be formed into an arbitrary shape and easily further into a porous body, the polymer composite obtained by the manufacturing method, and a culturing method of animal cells using the polymer composite. PSOLUTION: One polymer compound A of two kinds of polymer compounds reactive with each other is dissolved in a solvent, and the resultant polymer compound A solution is frozen into an arbitrary shape. The frozen product of the polymer compound A solution is immersed in a polymer compound B solution, obtained by dissolving the other polymer compound B in a solvent compatible with the solvent for the polymer compound A, and is caused to gel. Preferably, the solvent for dissolving the polymer compound B is a mixed solvent of the solvent compatible with the solvent for the polymer compound A and a solvent exhibiting a freezing point-depressing action. The thus-obtained polymer composite can be made into the porous body by vacuum freeze-drying, and the porous body is suitably employed as a carrier for culturing animal cells.
