The mechanism finds application in power industry for efficient production of electric power. It comprises at least a pair of magnet/electromagnet (1) and a coil (2) that is fixed to the body (8). The body (8) is attached to the bottom of the water basin, a float (10) being connected to a rod (5) by means of a soft or rigid joint (9). The mechanism comprises also a rotor (6) representing a hollowtube (3), at one end of which, at the inside, there is fixed a ratchet wheel (4) whose teeth get engaged with a thread made on the rod (5). To the outer wall of the tube (3) there is attached the magnet/electromagnet (1), which is placed in the body (8), the latter being fixed to the base or bottom of the water basin.
