B Process for the conversion of gaseous alkanes into liquid olefins and hydrocarbons D A process for the conversion of gaseous alkanes into liqueurs and liquid hydrocarbons, wherein a gaseous supply containing alkanes is reacted with a dry bromine vapor to form alkyl bromides and hydrobromic acid vapor. The mixture of alkyl bromides and hydrobromic acid is then reacted along a crystalline aluminum silicate synthetic catalyst, such as an X or Y type zeolite catalyst, at a temperature of about 250Â ° C to 500Â ° C. C to form olefins, higher molecular weight hydrocarbons and hydrobromic acid vapor. Various methods are presented with respect to the removal of hydrobromic acid vapor from higher molecular weight hydrocarbons and the generation of bromine from hydrobromic acid for use in the process.
