A fluid flow field plate for use in a fuel cell is described, the plate comprising a first plurality of channels formed on a first surface thereof and extending through the first surface in a predetermined pattern, the plate having a region folded along a side edge, the folded region comprising a pressure chamber and an interface region, the pressure chamber having a longitudinal geometric axis substantially parallel to an edge of the plate, the interface region comprising two parts of the first adjacent surface and facing each other.
