The present invention relates to a method for production of plant materials enriched with glucosamine, wherein raw plant materials or re-hydrated dried plant materials or plant extracts are heated at a temperature ranging of 70 and 110°C for more than 10 hours and, preferably, less than within 1 week, characterized in that compounds assisting in formation of sugar-nitrogen containing products of condensation are added necessary for the formation of glucosamine during the cultivation of plants from which said plant materials are obtained.
