The present invention relates to the field of veterinary virology, namely, to rabies vaccine and to a process for its production. To enhance the efficiency by increasing the antigenic and immunogenic activity and safety, the proposed rabies vaccine for oral immunization of wild carnivores contains cell culture liquid with avirulent strain of rabies virus with the infectivity titer of 6.0-8.5 lg FFU50/cm3 as a vaccine strain; fish meal, beef fat, paraffine or a food polymer and uncleaned cereal grains as nutrients and formative components; and, additionally, tetracycline as a marker; at a certain ratio of the components. The vaccine contains RV-97 or ERA G333 rabies virus strain as an avirulent strain of rabies virus. The vaccine contains wheat, rye, and oat as uncleaned cereal grains. In the process of vaccine production, vaccine strain of rabies virus is grown in passaged monolayer-suspension sublines of cells from kidneys of newborn Syrian golden hamster BHK-21/13-02 or saiga kidney cells; the obtained culture liquid, containing avirulent strain of rabies virus with the infectivity titer of 6.0-8.5 lg FFU50/cm3, is frozen at —20-40°C in containers; then, tetracycline, paraffine, uncleaned cereal grains, fish meal, and beef fat are mixed for 25-30 minutes at 55-60°C; the resulting mass is dispensed into plastic molds at 40-45°C; frozen culture liquid, containing avirulent strain of rabies virus, is added into each cell of the mold and frozen at —20-40°C. Polyethylene bags or gelatin blisters are used as containers for culture liquid. Plastic molds have the width:heght:length ratio equal to 1:(1.0-1.5):(2.0-3.5), respectively, and the weight of finished vaccine, placed in plastic molds, may vary from 15 to 100 g.
