TREATMENT OF LABDANUM RESIN DERIVED FROM CISTUS CRETICUS COLLECTED IN THE TRADITIONAL MANNER

The cistus creticus is a smelling resin known in ancient times and used mainly as incence or medicine by traditional therapeutics. It is a pure natural product collected in the traditional manner and distinguished in composition, properties and aroma from gums derived by boiling or saponification process from other kind of cistus collected in western mediterranean counties. Treatment modes: 1) extraction with volatile solvents; 2) extraction of the extremely crucial carbon dioxide. Products: solutions and essential oils (absolutes).
