TRANSGENIC PLANTS EXPRESSING MNSOD AND CHITINASE GENES

摘要

The present invention relates to novel plants that produce and secrete chitinase and MnSOD as a result of the introduction of DNA sequences encoding chitinase, an enzyme capable of degrading chitin present in fungi and nematodes and MnSOD that confers drought tolerance. Still further it also relates to method of producing the transgenic plants that express at least one gene that encodes MnSOD and one gene encoding chitinase.
