The present invention discloses a series of novel glitazone compounds incorporated with water soluble hydrophilic amino acid tyrosine represented by a general Formula I, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as anti- diabetic agents. Also disclosed herein is a simple, efficient process for synthesis of novel rhodanine/glitazones incorporated with tyrosine.
