TECHNOLOGY FOR PRIMING SUGARCANE PLANTING MATERIAL, ITS PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND CERTIFICATION

Herein, a novel technology is proposed, in which priming of sugarcane planting material is done with a organic formulation followed by its packaging in perforated crates where in layers of planting material are kept sandwithched in 1-3 cm thick layers of solid formulation with 50 - 70 % moisture and sealed thereafter. The packaged material after 5-7 days can be certified within the crates and the duration may be utilized for the transportation of planting material. After reaching the destination, the primed planting material can be used for planting sugarcane in field with 90 % survival rate.
