A PROCEES FOR THE PREPRATION OF A NOVEL AROMATIC DIAMINE

The invention provides a process for preparation a novel diamine containing a ether and alkyl group , said process comprises the steps of reacting the compound of formula 2 with a metal catalyst and a hydrogen providing species in the presence of an organics solvent and a base, at a temperature in the range of 50°C to 150°C, for a period ranging between 2 to 10 hours, removing the catalyst by filtration and cooling the reaction mixture to a temperature ranging from 25°C to 35°C followed by separation and purification by conventional methods to obtain the desired product in crystalline form.
