A METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING A LARGE CONTINUOUS CONCRETE SLAB AND A CRAB INDUCER SYSTEM

A method is provided for placing concrete slabs without using conventional shrinkage control joints. The method involves the use of crack inducer elements arranged in a grid to facilitate cracking of the slab at close centres and hence control shrinkage cracking to a pattern reflecting the grid. The method provides concrete slabs with a continuous smooth top surface. Furthermore, the method enables a continuous concrete pour which reduces time and effort when placing a concrete slab.
