The present invention relates to a device for controlling the blow out preventer (BOP) control unit used in well drilling operations. The BOP control unit has selector valves with open/close positions. The device comprises a master control panel connected to the BOP control unit for acquisition of data and processing the said data. The master control panel comprises an input module, an output module and analog input module. Further the device comprises a plurality of slave panels connected to master control panel, and a connecting means for connecting the master control panel to the plurality of slave panels. The slave panels is a programmable logic controller (PLC) for controlling the BOP control unit and comprises an input module and an output module for controlling the BOP control unit. Fig. 1
