摘要

The polyvinylamine in its anhydride form is a highly resistive material; i.e., is not highly ionic, thus being an electric insulating material. However, the polyvinylamine acquires a polyelectrolyte character upon hydration; i.e., it is turned into a conductive material in the order of the semiconductors. It has been observed that the addition of glycolic, monomeric or polymeric compounds to the hydrated polyvinylamine results into more efficient polyelectrolytes, since glycols remarkably promote the flow or transport of hydrogen ions through the polymer. Nevertheless, the addition of a salt from a metal from group IA (lithium, sodium or potassium) enhances, even more, the efficiency of the ion transport. Cyclic voltammetry tests performed to the polyvinilamyne polyelectrolytes with the polyvinilamine previously hydrated, plasticized with glycerol and doped with the lithium, sodium or potassium salt clearly shown the electric properties of the polyelectrolyte.
