Disclosed are isoxazole compounds represented by formula (V), wherein one of Ri or Rj is H and the other is a 3,4,5-trisubstituted phenyl group, and R2 is an optionally substituted phenyl or heteroaromatic ring, and the remaining substituents are as defined in the specification. The compounds inhibit tubulin polymerization and/or target vasculature and are useful for treating proliferative disorders, such as cancer.
