First and second core elements of magnetically conductive material are mounted to the conduit at spaced positions, with the conduit being part of a pumped closed loop of a water supply system. Means is provided for establishing radio frequency magnetic fluxes in said core elements, for generating respective electromagnetic fields in the fluid to be treated extending from spaced positions along the conduit.
