Disclosed is a solution comprising cellulose, an ionic liquid as a solvent and 6 - 30% by weight of a nitrogen-comprising base, based on the total weight of the solution, wherein the ionic liquid comprises at least one cation of formula (IVe), wherein; R is unbranched and unsubstituted alkyl; R1 is unbranched or branched alkyl which is unsubstituted; and the radicals R2 to R4 are each, independently of one another, hydrogen, or unbranched or branched alkyl which is unsubstituted; and wherein the nitrogen-comprising base is an imidazole compound which is derived from the quaternary compounds of the formula (IVe), with the radical R forming the quaternary compounds not being present and R1-R4 independently of one another, are as defined above.
