Disclosed is a method of delivering an admixture providing freeze-thaw resistance to a cementitious composition comprising adding to the cementitious composition a viscosity modifying admixture comprising a high molecular weight polymeric solution of polyethylene glycols, polysaccharides, or mixtures thereof, and containing polymeric microspheres, a gas generating additive, or at least partially degradable polymeric particles, wherein the viscosity modifying admixture is added as a single admixture to the cementitious composition. Also disclosed is an admixture for the process above.
