Disclosed is a method of improving the growth characteristics of soil, the method characterised by the steps of: a) operating an internal combustion engine to produce exhaust emissions; b) incorporating the exhaust emissions into the soil by distributing the exhaust emissions through plastic distribution hoses of an agricultural seeding implement when incorporating the exhaust emissions into the soil; c) cooling the exhaust emissions prior to distributing the exhaust emissions through the plastic distribution hoses; and d) using a computer controller to control a cooling rate of the exhaust emissions responsive to a sensed temperature of the exhaust emissions at the distribution hoses.
