The invention herewith described refers to the testing method for photo catalytic examination of TiO2 mesoporous coatings which defines the testing methodology for function of self-cleaning of the system clay roof tile/photo catalytic active coating. The set method, by introducing the preabsorption as the necessary sample preparation, solves the problem of porosity of these systems, eliminating the influence of the porous structure on the results of quantitative assessments of the photo catalytic activity. By this method there is defined the correction factor (c1/c0) in the expression for the photo catalytic activity calculation as a result of the introduction of the preabsorption process and the procedure for determining the adequacy of the duration of the mentioned process. In addition to the functional quality of the clay tiles with photo catalytic active coating, the set method indicates the need to examine the textural characteristics of these systems as the most influential in determining the properties of the photo catalytic activities.The obtained results are promising for the introduction to the industrial production of these systems whereat the affordable, photo catalytic active self-cleaning material important for the environmental protection would be obtained and the clay roofing tile features improved.
