A method for prevention of iron deficiency anemia in adolescent girls with preclinical stages of iron deficiency include preventive ingestion of iron supplements in doses of 1 mg/kg per day in one intake. The hydroxide polymaltose complex of ferric iron is prescribed. The hydroxide polymaltose complex of ferric iron is prescribed in the first 10 days of each menstrual cycle for 6-12 cycles, depending on the stage of iron deficiency.
