The invention relates to the steel industry, in particular to the blast production. A method for recovering drainage ability of the blast furnace involves a supply to the blast furnace hearth through the air blowing tuyeres, at that at the period of 60 minutes the blast supply is stopped through than not less than half of located in succession air tuyeres of the blast furnaces, at that the blowing supplying through the tuyeres located from the side of the cast iron tap-hole of the furnace is stopped. According to the invention the drainage ability of the furnace is reduced due to the formation of the flow of hot gases through the center of the furnace in the direction of the open air tuyeres in front of cast iron tap-hole to the area of cast iron tap-hole where the air tuyeres are closed.
