METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF SODIUM CHLOROPHYLLIN CONCENTRATE OF GREEN ALGAE BIOMASS

A method for the preparation of a sodium chlorophyllin concentrate includes extracting the pigments of raw chlorophyll material, treating thereof with an alkali, an acid. According to the method green algae biomass is used as a raw material, and the extraction of the pigments from the raw material is carried out with ethyl alcohol, thereafter the ethyl alcohol extract is treated with the aid of an ultrasonic disperser with further agitation and filtering through a glass filter No 3 followed by treatment of the extract with a caustic soda solution and removal of the ethyl alcohol on a rotary evaporator at a temperature of 40-45 °C by neutralizing the alkali with a sulphuric acid solution with further treatment with a soda solution bringing pH to 9-10 with drying without use of high temperatures that reduce the chlorophyll content in the final product throughout the entire method.
