A method of estimating the running state of a vehicle comprising the steps of: detecting vibration level of a portion below the spring of a vehicle rolling by means (11) for detecting the level of mounted vibration surface inside a tread of the tire; detecting a waveform of time changes in the vibration level; and estimating at least one of the surface conditions of the road on which the vehicle is running and the running state of each tire by comparing said waveform of change over time in the vibration level with dependent on the vehicle speed master curve.
